Root Two quick questions about running from SD card.

I'll be upfront and honest, I bought my SD card from Nook2Android. I do feel a little bad about doing it, but I would not be able to make a card or root this on my own. The threads are confusing enough. I did consider it, but...

1. I think there might be a chance that something is wrong with the touchscreen on my Nook. When I do crossword puzzles, it seems like the letter O and P sticks. Is that possible? Or is it my imagination? Has anyone else had an issue with the Nook stock keyboard?

2. If I have to exchange it, will any of the apps that I am downloading now remain on the SD card or will I have to do it all over again? I just don't want to set all of this up and it be for naught.

Thanks in advance.

If the O and the P ONLY 'stick' when in that one app, then it's most likely not a hardware problem. Try either changing the orientation of the screen, or different app where you can enter data from the keyboard. If when you change the orientation the O and P still stick then it's a fairly safe bet it's not the Nook. Basically you need to figure out if there is a dead spot on the screen under the O and P, or if the O and P don't work correctly on this one app. I've not seen a reference to it on the NC, but I have seen in some of the phone forums where a screen will develop a dead spot.

If you have to return the NC, you'll want to un-root it first. Trying to return a rooted NC will just get you a "you've voided your warranty" from the nice folks at B&N.

Thank you for the quick reply. Thus far, it's only when doing crossword puzzles and I was doing them until I got the SD card. The orientation doesn't change in the crossword puzzles in stock.

But, if there is a dead spot on the Nook, then wouldn't that be a hardware problem? I'd rather just exchange it sooner than later, if necessary.

Oh, and I didn't root. I don't have the skills. :o I'm assuming it would just be a quick pull of an SD card before going back to the store.

Will do. Thanks for all the feedback. I really hate having to exchange electronics.

Edited to say Thanks for the suggestion and for frequenting these boards and being willing to answer these thousands of questions. I really appreciate this.
