Help Two Unlock Screens?

I use the pattern security for unlocking. When I press the power button I have to swipe down and then draw my pattern to unlock--on my Droid 1 I just would see the pattern screen after pressing power button. Is there any way to remove this extra step?

The app "No Lock" gets ride of the slider (swipe) unlock feature. I am not sure if it has any effect on the pattern.
