TWRP Problem

Hello, I just received my Nexus 7 (2013) this past week. Build Number LRX22G 5.0.2 came with it out of the box. I've rooted it using CF-Auto-Root and Wug Fresh. Both went flawlessly and rooted the device without problems. But, when I try and install the newest versions of TWRP or CWM, I run into problems. They install, but when I'm in either interface, it says things like E: cache or mount problems. It also says No OS found, are you sure you want to reboot, etc...I've had to re-install the image from Google (Fastboot and ADB Android SDK, platform-tools) each time to get back to stock. I've tried installing TWRP through ADB, Flashify and Wug Fresh. The reason I really want TWRP is because I want to give some customs ROMS a try, especially CM12. I don't know what I'm doing wrong and have followed tutorials/videos verbatim. Is there a way to flash CM12 without TWRP or CWM? Is it a 5.0.2 problem that other people are having? Any help would be appreciated. I guess having stock android that's rooted wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if I can't figure this out.

It seems to be a problem with nexus 7 (2013) tablets that shipped with lollipop. Twrp cant read the partitions. Good news is there is a Twrp that works. Its the one bundled with multi-rom. Multirom is awesome. You can install a second ROM! That way you can test a new ROM without losing your current one. Each time you reboot the tab it asks which ROM you want to boot. The Roms don't share apps, so you set up the secondary ROM like a brand new ROM. There is an XDA thread for it with the files. There is a multirom installer app in the play store that installs all the files but it finishes the installation by booting to recovery to complete. Since you can't install recovery yet that won't work, but the files are in the multirom thread so no biggie.
here is the thread.
You need a kernel with kexec hardboot patch to flash secondary roms. I use elementalx. Links to all the kernels are in the thread.
There are literally dozens of Roms for this tablet. Also the factory images for android 5.1 came out for our beloved nexus today! So good news all around bro!
You may have already heard of multirom, in which case I babbled on too long. Lol. But I know for sure the multirom version of twrp will work. If you don't want to use multirom you don't need the installer file, just the recovery. In that case just ignore the multirom settings in twrp. The Dev for it updates the twrp version whenever there is a new official version. Good luck and welcome to n7.

Awesome! Thanks for the lengthy reply, I appreciate it. When I get home later I'm going to give it a try (Multirom). And I noticed the 5.1 update last night and flashed it too. I've never had a tablet/phone that gets updates this quick before, it's great. Thanks again.
