txt message ring tone ?

ok, where do i change to put a custom tone for my txt messages.

You need to use chompSMS or handcent text programs

Get Ringdroid from the Market. Use it to chop a song into a ringtone, then save it to whichever notification you want.

i use handcent, looked all over the place found where you can change everything but the sound. i just cant seem to find it.

I tried Ringdroid, made custom txt alert, assigned it, BUT...it's not playing it. Grrrrrrrrr.

ok think i got it. found you have to have notifications on before you can select ring tone, i thought notification was just to have a little icon in the top of the main window. have to wait for a txt to see if it works
