Help Txt messages lost on HTC Desire

Hi,

Was wondering if anyone else is having problems with their HTC Desire, wiping their txt messages from their phones? Sometimes when i try to send a txt message my phone forces a close and when it re-opens the txt messages, all my messages have been lost, very annoying it is. Any thoughts on how to stop this or is my phone faulty? Also for some reason my phone won't back up my data to my SD card which it says it will do automatically. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Are you using the standard messaging app??, ive never had this problem myself.

I had this problem with standard message app, using handcent now with zero issues.

It happened to me once and I had definitely not set the phone to auto delete.

I've had it a couple of times with Handcent - no idea if I had auto-delete on or not.

Hey mate,

Do you happen to have an anti virus program such as lookout or 'anti virus'. I have had problems with both on occasion with the exact same problem. More so with 'antivirus' (the app that has a pill looking logo)

That was the cause for me and some others too (reading through countless comments)

Lost 2500 messages in one hit!
Also the phone reboots itself whenever it feels like it!

I bought HTC desire on Friday and I lost all my text messages in one night. Can't believe this is happening. And the lack of Inbox, Drafts, Sent messages is reeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaally annoying.

This is interesting because all my text messages mysteriously disappeared a couple of days ago. I hadn't changed any settings and put it down to accidentally wiping them whilst drunk however I'm adamant that I didn't do anything.

It hasn't happened to me since I replied to this topic in July, I have since deleted my task killer and am using handset I don't know if that has made a difference!

It just happened to me now. Annoying!

Happened to me yesterday. Pretty annoying. Luckily I had a pretty recent backup of all my messages from when I did a RUU for the latest update.
