Help txt msg button grayed out after message typed out

I am just curious if anyone is having the similar problems I am having which is driving me nuts.

I've noticed that at times when I go into my text messages and get ready to send a message or reply to a message and type up my message the send button would still be grayed out for no apparent reason that I could see.

My question is why is this happening? In order for it to work I have to completely back out and go back in and retype or as I have been doing is cutting it so that I wouldn't have to retype it.

Any suggestions or anyone know a fix to this?

It's a slightly common issue, no fix that I know of except what you have been doing.

It used to happen to me a lot, but hasn't happened in a long while. *knock on wood*

Hm, weird. Do you remember or know what you did to get it to stop doing that? Are you using stock text messages app, or stock keyboard or what are you using currently?

I'm using stock messaging app, but have the smart keyboard as the keyboard instead of the stock. I don't know, I'm just trying to figure it out or maybe something I had done but I don't think it is or was.

Using the stock messaging app with swype. Now that I think about it though, *think* it only happened when using the stock keyboard.

I use the Swype keyboard exclusively and have been having the grayed out icon problem every so often. I don't know about when you are using the default Android keyboard, but with Swype I have found that I have to turn Swype off and then turn it back on. It took me a while to try that one because I didn't think Swype or any of the keyboards could affect whether I could send texts or not but apparently on wonderful Android they can!
