Typing annoyances with 's' and 'i'

Ok, since I cannot search for a single letter thread, I've had to start one, sorry if it's already covered

When I'm typing out a text/sms the dictionary keeps adding an 's' to the end of words.
ie: 'meeting' ends up 'meetings' etc

Also I cannot use a lowercase 'i' when I need to.

This was happening before 2.2 but not initially when I had the phone back in June I think.

Mine does that - I just delete the 's' and carry on. Usually an 'I' on its own will always be a capital, I can remember one occasion when I wanted a lower case 'i' and it wouldn't let me, it was annoying at the time probably only because I'm picky!
