Typing Issue

Hello, sometimes with my Eris when I try to type a text message or make a phone call, nothing shows up. I can press the letters and see the auto-correct as if its typing, but on the message bar, there are no words being typed. For making a call I can type in numbers, but when I press call, nothing happens, whenever this happens I have to wait a few minutes before it starts to register the typing again and sometimes i have to restart my phone all together. Is this happening to anybody else? And, if so, does anybody have a fix?

This just happened to me for the first time the other day, but only in the browser. This was after I installed and then uninstalled Dolphin; I don't think that had anything to do with it. (I'd also had a task manager installed and then I uninstalled it after a few days.) Since restarting my phone, all has been fine.
