Root U3- stuck at "Pushing recovery image"

So I'm trying to root my EVO, it's never been rooted before, but I'm stuck at the screen that says "Pushing recovery image." and it's been about 6 minutes now. During the rooting process, I wasn't allowed to install the HBoot drivers on my computer (I'm running windows 7, 32 bit) but I figured that maybe they were already installed on my computer because I have the android SDK installed..
Anyone know what's wrong?

Thanks!

You have to install the drivers. Also have to uninstall HTC Sync. Mine hung on the same thing until I unistalled HTC Sync.

Did you look at the file with the instructions for installing the drivers via windows device manager? You don't need Sync to do it that way.

Yeah i did. I get to device manager and i direct it to update the drivers with the hboot and i dont remember what exactly it says but basically it wont update the driver
