Uber-n00b question on Android version

It should be ok to kill z4root, but don't kill superuser, this is used by apps that require root

Also, maybe you should try out some of the ROMs. The Eminence one is great, and 2.2 BETA can be downloaded, but should be completed soon :)

lol does the Eminence rom run smoother than SE's 2.1?

YES!! It runs 10000 times better!

You wouldn't believe how smooth it is until you try it...it's like beauty in a phone lol

Since installing it, I never have any lags at all, runs as smooth as a babys butt lol

i just had the Eminence v1.2 custom ROM installed and the menu is opening up and closing is literally 10000x faster than the original SE's 2.1 same goes to scrolling through apps.

the rom is installed on the phone it self right?
straight from the tutorial "1.Connect your phone to the pc open up the phone folder scroll down till you see the xRecovery folder (If you don't see the folder their simply follow the guide above and make a back up of your system and the folder will be their then just get rid of the back up in their) then click on it.

cuz i just opened up my micro-SD card folder and did the same thing and it worked fine for me :|

Ye it means SD card, but its an idiot proof guide, which most of, do not know what an SD Card is believe it or not lol

It's great isn't it! So much smoother, and looks so much better than plain blue :)

This was a common problem in the old market in 1.6 and before the update in 2.1

I manually updated the market on mine via titanium backup

I already had it backed up from previous ROM.

I will upload it here tomorrow if you like, but it's 4.30am here and I've just got my son to sleep so I'm going to bed lol

ok i just solved my problem :)
at first i thought it was a location problem, cuz mine is a X10a after i flashed the Eminence rom, it telling me its X10i in the settings o.O
so i flashed back to my old ROM to back up the market app and flashed Eminence again to install the market that I just backed up. but no luck there :(
then did some research on google, went to xRecovery mode cleared cache and fixed permission. (only the market app tht came with the Eminence rom worked, the 1 from my previous rom didnt work for some reason)
o well tht is very cool
Eminence Rom is android 2.1 right?
does all the features work (such as continus auto focus while recording a video)

Ye it's 2.1 and everything works :)
 
is there a way to add more home screens to scroll through?
and i noticed that you can't fit alot of widgets onto 1 single screen
huge space gap between widgets

You can change it in Launcherpro setting, to fit more widgets on the homescreen, and you can add up to 7 homescreens too :) it's in homescreen settings
