Ugh, is there an easier way to install Gameloft games?

I bought a few Gameloft games from their site, and I'm trying to install them on my own. I've only been trying to install Eternal Legacy, thus far, but I assume I'll end up having the same problem with the rest... See, they have to download on wi-fi, and Eternal Legacy alone is close to 500MB. Every time I let it start downloading via my wi-fi, though, it only downloads about 20% in close to 45 minutes, and then it says there was an error, and asks me if I want to restart the download...

This is kind of irritating, because I can't download any of my games from them now... Anyone know any workarounds for this, or anything?
 
It's a problem with Gameloft's servers, sometimes the game downloads fast and easy, sometimes they won't download at all. If you can find the right one you can download the files on your computer and then just put them on you sd card. Just google "Eternal Legacy SD Data".
 
Eh... I'd rather not get into downloading sketchy "illegal versions" of apps. Mostly because I'm too wary that I'd download something to my computer that actually contains some kind of nasty virus, or something. I learned my lesson the hard way when I was younger and constantly downloaded music illegally, and got virus after virus. -_-
 
I understand where you're coming from, but that's the only way aside from downloading through the app. I had to do it that way just to get most of the files for Dungeon Hunter 2 (it still had to download more after that). You can always email Gameloft and they'll send you a link to a different apk for Eternal Legacy, hopefully that one will work better.
 
This has happened to me in the past too, but I think you'll find that it when you start the download again it starts from where it left off, so if you just keep trying you will eventually get the whole lot.

Just as long as you don't hit "cancel" or "restart download." If it says there was a problem, just hit the home button and force close it with the built in task manager. Go back in and it should start where it left off. Restarting your phone always helps as well.
 
I just gave up for good. ;) Not very helpful, I know, but after at least four or five attempts at downloading using multiple apks for two different games (one of which never registered to my account), each of which I stopped and started multiple times, and all of this wrecking a brand new SD card, I decided I couldn't be bothered. Completely unacceptable, and nothing I've seen about Gameloft's games suggests they're worth the hassle. Spectral Souls - a PSP port done by a tiny indie developer - gave me no problems pulling down a gig of data (and I've reinstalled it more than once with exactly the same result). Multiple EA games never complained. Never had any problems with my wifi to suggest it could be the cause. Gameloft's servers are just pathetic, and their customer support offers no solutions.
 
Well that's weird. I used to get Gameloft games from "sketchy" locations on my Desire, they all worked fine. Now I've bought a few games from Gameloft for my Transformer and they work fine too.
 
First thing you should do is go into settings \ Wireless & networks \ Wi-Fi Settings \ menu key \ Advance \ Wi-Fi sleep policy \ and make sure it's set to 'Never'.

Then just be patient and it will download.

An alternative will be to go into settings \ Display \ Screen timeout \ and set to the longest time possible. Or just keep tapping the screen to keep it awake.

As long as your Wi-Fi is good you should have no issues if you do this.
 
Hah, well, haven't been able to try anything because my home Internet has been down, and ATT is claiming it could take up to a week before they get around to fixing it. :/
 
I am currently using sony xperia play and its really frustrating to download the remaining data of Gamelofts games over Wifi, they should have given an option to download it over 3g or 4g. :mad:. I really hope someone can find a solution to this....i even had an inbuild game called star battalion, i managed to download the game through the wifi connection but to my irritation the game started crashing after the demo......
 
Upgrade your internet connection or router, if it's not fast enough to download a Gameloft title then it's not fast enough! :D

The only alternative is to download the sd files online and transfer them onto your phone, but again if your internet speed sucks it will still take ages to download.

Option to download using 3G/4G would be nice, but with some warnings as that would kill allot of peoples mouthly data allowance just downloading one or two games.

Does gameloft support the Transformer? I have been checking their website constantly and from a PC their site looks rubbish and from my transformer it just keeps telling me that they don't currently support my device. I have been dying to get the Lets Golf HD games since there really aren't any other golf games on the Android market right now and have been getting roadblocked all the way.
 
hey i was having same problem, the problem is when you download the game it saves the files of the game to your sd. On some games like nova 2 hd I already had the sd data saved on my sd so when I re downloaded the apk I opened it and it said verifying files and I was able to play the game without having to re download. Now if you have a file explorer on your phone go to gameloft folder delete the data of a previously downloaded game and then re download it. Fixed the problem for me hope that helps. I had to do this with modern combat 2hd even tho I had the sd data on my sd card when I open the apk it would tell me to re download the files which then makes your phone have to download and replace the files which causes the stopping of the download/and or the extremely long dl time.
 
In short go to gameloft folder on your phone using a file manager. Open gameloft folder find and delete the game files for the game your trying to re download. This is the fix :) p.s. some games that have been previously dled you shouldn't have to redl just open the apk for the game and it should verify files from you sd and you should be able to play.
 
i feel ya its a big pain i dont have wifi at my place but if im on a trip or go to mcdonalds those wifi hotspots work really hardcore fast....sometimes id give that a try mcdonalds or a coffee shop.
