Ughhh

lol, Carmen, carmen, carmen. *sigh*.

I wish I had the money like you do to try out other phones - while I absolutely love Android, I can't say jack about WinMo 7 (yes, I am still calling it WinMo, tyvm - I'm old and crotchety), so I cannot in all honesty dis it just yet.

But I have forgotten about all other forms of music since I went with Pandora - and while I liked Zune 4 software when I first tried it, it b0rked the tags on like 20 GB of music that it went and found on its own and thought it was something else, or else for songs it had no info on (duh! Can' have info on multiple MP3s split off from a continuous DJ mix, dorks!) I stopped using it. Now, feh. I have Pandora,. 'Nuff said.

Whichever way you go, enjoy. If you keep the Andy-lovin' phone, more power to ya. If you decide to move on, PM me. :D

Unfortunately the Zune software still does that. It pisses me off b/c I have pretty bad OCD when it comes to these things (organization of files and etc..) and every time I connect my Zune HD to the PC it re-organizes ALL of my songs. Grrrrrrrr!

I am not sure i quite understand what you mean.
I dont think i have the issue or maybe i just dont get what u mean

I thought you got a Focus last I'd heard Carmen? You're kind of like me. I counted the amount of phones I've had in the last year and genuinely frightened myself.

Lol well in 2011, i plan to lessen my urge to get every new phone that catches my attention...

I do think, I may get a slightly better WP7 because i hate the camera on my HD7(other then that, its perfect) but idk....I think i could at least keep the HD7 for at least a few months

But i do love my mytouch 4g as well....

And yeah the focus, gave me a lot of issues that the Galaxy S(Captivate) did so i switched contracts with a tmobile friend :)

sooo.... did that match your needs?

I am guessing not.. because it will give you the same animation or flow

I haven't tried it yet. I plan on doing so tomorrow, to see if i like it...
if i do, then i plan on actually keeping the mytouch but if not....then at least, i tried it....

wish we could do dual boot like on the hd7 with Windows Mobile 6.5 and Android

Get rid of any issues that you had with HD2...Played with one and this is a completely different beast...Sure it has the same look and pretty much identical hardware

But the OS for WP7 is so much more refined than Windows mobile 6.
Haha I say come on over to TMO :)

I used to persuade my friends to get whatever android phone i had at the time and now that i do that with a mytouch...i am doing it now for the HD7 as well as the Dell Venue Pro!

can you elaborate on zune for me? my impression of it is that it's basicly a microsoft IPOD. out of my price-range and a bit unneccessary for me as a stand-alone device. are you saying that they made zune into an app for their phones?

i am willing to settle for Android

Ouch, that hurt. Dagger in the heart lol.

In all fairness, you've got an AT&T contract AND a T-Mobile contract at the moment, right? Why not get a Windows Phone, test it out for a few weeks, see how you like it compared to Android, and I believe most carriers have a 30-day return policy so you could always trade it back for your robot friend.

Personally (and obviously), I'm partial to Android. But that doesn't mean other mobile OS' aren't right for other people. If you have the ability to test both - why not?

So go ahead, test out Windows Phone, and when you decide it sucks compared to Android I'll be right here to say "told ya so". Hehe... seriously though, interested to see how this pans out!

I actually had never owned a Zune prior to owning a windows phone....I originally experimented with the KIN back in the summer...you know, with their 2 months of existence and while I don't think it was a horrible phone per say, i think it was more of an experiment on Microsoft's part as far as Windows phone goes...Anyway, while trying the kin out for that day and a half, I downloaded the Desktop client for Zune and I have got to say...Visually, it is so much more appealing than Itunes...Honestly, it is. I went back to using an ipod touch and itunes and it was so BLAHHH

as far as Zune on the phones itself, think of it as the MP3 Player you would find on your android phone. Except Visually it is better. My music sounds louder on my hd7 then it does on my mytouch 4g and it is all around better experience as far as playing music and finding music(the best way to get music is from Amazon i think...i could be missing something)

The only Mp3 player I actually think are decent are the ones found on the Galaxy S devices and the one found on the Xperia X10...both are absolutely great...Especially the galaxy S with the Surround sound.

I wouldn't say it is a microsoft ipod....it is own flavor...like Windows phone 7.

I think you should wait until there are some updates to the WP7. As i know for any OS i've used the first release is not so good. They need real feedback and then they will make it stable ans stronger. A good example is: Vista.

Lol well technically I am still using android...i swap the Sim card between the mytouch and the HD7...However, I more so only now use the mytouch for its camera...

My ideal Android Device is:
8 megapixel camera with Flash(I can settle for 5 megapixels with flash)
FFC
A much better unified user experience(UI+OS...it makes no sense that sense is always force closing)
Better Multi-media options for Movies & Music
Social Networking Integration--Blur is the best way to get this on an Android device to date...it allows you to reply to messages from facebook &myspace which is very big for me however I hate most motorola devices

I never really cared that my phone lacked the latest OS but at the same time, It would be nice to actually be good to have equality. Even if I brought a cheap Optimus T, I shouldn't feel left out when the big guys(Nexuses, Droids, etc.) are all getting it....I'd never buy something like an Optimus T.

But the Point I am making is, that yes Android is an OPEN OS that brings in choice and freedom but at the same time, I believe that it's openness also hurts it to a degree....Anyone Manufacturer can make an android phone the way they choose using Android OS, A Carrier can restrict certain functions of Android(At&t restricting side loading of applications outside market), A carrier delays the updates as well as the skin it has on the phone...

With Windows Phone 7, I am guaranteed to get the exact same update that a phone on At&t has...For the most part, I can get diversity in choice of hardware all the while having the same experience as someone with an LG Quantum, and most of all there is no fragmentation(although its only a month old)...Meaning, all the apps i have will work on any phone I get. I like the fact that Microsoft is restrictive and open at the same time...it's between Apple and Google and it needs to stay in the niche...Let those who want to be completely stricted flock to apple or those who want Openness flock to Android but who want the beauty of both worlds to come to Microsoft...

Trust me, if my Dream Android phone came out anytime from now or whenever, I'd be back in a heartbeat 100%....Although, i am still
deciding if I want to return my Mytouch or not. Because I do love
android, I love this site, and I am just so used to it. I've learned a lot
about phones in general.....

I'm not a tech girl...More of a poser...LOL
But what was so bad about Vista.
I used to have a Dell with Vista and I now
have a very nice HP with windows 7
and I honestly don't see where either is worse or better
then the other....

I hear and read ppl say they hate Vista or OMG, Windows 7
is so much better but i don't understand why though lol

As far as first release OS....I have yet to see too many bugs
and the real features they are missing(multi-tasking & cut and paste) are
supposed to be coming next month....

I gave a thanks on the above post....cuz honestly....Vista isnt bad or that bad.

I've said this before: I got Windows 7 at launch....and have yet to install it.

I'm running Vista 64bit and with it either being up to date, me running the 64bit version, me running it on a custom built PC....maybe its all 3 put together...but I have no need to install Windows 7 yet other than to say I have it installed.

I seriously think, like some others do, that most problems with Vista had to do with hardware. Even running XP Pro 32bit on my custom built PC....I havent seen crashes like I did on my Compaq, HP PC's.

I disagree with you on a few points, mainly Android's fragmentation issue and painting Windows Phone as the Mona Lisa, but hey - you're definitely entitled to your opinion. For example, MOTO BLUR is hated by a large number of people but if YOU like it and it does what YOU want it to do... then who cares what other people say?

I haven't had much time with Windows Phone but I'd like to play around with it just for comparison sake.

For me, the most fun part of this is how far we've come in the last 2 years. Think about what the "top phones" were in 2008 and how many phones could be considered pretty awesome.

I think blur largely became hated becasue of the hardware it was running....When it first launched, it was solely found on the cliq and cliq xt.
Those devices are horrible in themselves(to most owners and non owners) and i think it tainted the overall perception of them. It wasn't till the Droid X and subsequent droids that ppls perception started to change....

Sense was found on Hero, Eris, Incredible, Desire, Evo and a few other devices way before July for the Droid X came around...It had great hardware it was used on and in itself was very attractive to Blur's boring look.

But I stand by what i said about Blur(Version 2) above...But sense is great eye candy. I'd personally choose touchwiz over sense lol(but I also agree with what you said above lol)

I'd love for someone, a Moderator or whoever, to do a review for Android & Windows phone :)

Eh I've talked to Droid X owners and motorola owners alike that hated it because it was an awful interface, poorly setup, laggy, etc.

Nonetheless, I'd try a windows phone if it was nice to use. I love my Zune HD and the pass and all. But I wouldn't switch to a Windows phone for it simply because I like to keep my music separate.

My Zune HD produces better quality, I can listen to songs and HD movies without worrying about killing my phone battery, and my Zune HD battery can handle like 30+ hours of songs which is good enough reason in itself to keep my mp3 player separate.

Everything else under the sun I use my phone for though.. I don't use the Zune HD to browse internet or apps because Android is the king of that as well. Plus I'd have to tether my 3g to the Zune HD to create wifi which is a waste of time lol.

Anyways, I'd like to see Windows phones get better maybe I'll try one out in a store. I just wouldn't switch to it for music unless it could match 30+ hours of listening time of my Zune HD which I don't think any phone will be doing for a very very long time.

Yeah, i just hate having to carry around two items....thats how i lost an ipod touch :(

and haha and fine, I like the tech phone girl status

Unfortunately the Zune software still does that. It pisses me off b/c I have pretty bad OCD when it comes to these things (organization of files and etc..) and every time I connect my Zune HD to the PC it re-organizes ALL of my songs. Grrrrrrrr!

I figured as much.

I dont think i have the issue or maybe i just dont get what u mean

The issue is that I make my own tags and ZUNE wants to change them around without letting me be the final say. I do things like (using ID3 v2.4 tags) add lyrics, album covers, etc. and Zune wiped the damned things out in the space of 3-4 minutes flat (which was like 40+ hours of work in hte first place).

Understandable about having to carry around 2 different items, but two not exactly the same items must surely be better than 2 phones with nearly the same capabilities except for ZUNE, right?

Get a Zune HD and be done with it....or else sell me your Android-base phone for dirt cheap! :D
