UK release date confirmed 1st May

Guys, lots more preorder deals released today.:) They are changing quite frequently. comparemobiledeals.com/mobile-phones/Samsung/Galaxy-S2

Sold my Galaxy S on ebay and think I might plump for a preorder now as I dont want to risk retailers having no stock on launch, I've read this is one of the most anticipated Android releases ever. I just wish we could get a solid confirmation on the launch date. :(

still no 3 network deals. Does anyone know of any 3 network deals on this phone.
This is what I'm waiting for as well. Currently on Orange but gonna move to 3 for the much better allowances/unlimited data.
Asked 3 online live support but they couldn't say when or how much they would be!

Don't go with 3 they only offer better deals as their signal is the worst in the UK.

I know from experience and their customer support is the worst I have ever experienced!

You have been warned!!!

They probably just haven't updated it since the upgrade was announced. The SGS2 was originally announced as having 1Ghz processor but a few weeks ago they said it was going to be 1.2Ghz instead.

yeah that is annoying, all of the cpw warehouse group retailers do that. I always ring up first day and cancel, pretty simple (can do it online if I recall). Keeping an eye on deals, addicted to the f5 button at the moment.

Lol, got mine today. Happy with phone, and having a good look around android.

However when I log into vodafone account it states I only have 500text messages. It should be ulimited (i.e. 3000).

The contract on my Blackberry 8900 runs out on June 28th. I hope to finally get an Android device after dribbling over my wifes LG Optimus One for the past month or so. The Samsung Galaxy S2 looks amazing and tops my I WANT list!

Most opertators only seem to offer 500Mb of internet in the UK. Is this really enough for moderate use? Gut feeling tells me no.

Ideally I don't want to spend more than

yes!

I've managed to go over that once on my Desire HD. I have also topped up to 1gb but not got near to it.

I think 500gb is plenty for most people. Your battery will die before you allowance lol

I went over my 500MB allowance for the first time when I got my SGS2 - because my apps were backed up on Google and the new phone downloaded them all without me realising. D'oh!

The moral of the story is that 500MB is plenty, unless there is exceptional circumstances. I recommend using 3G Watchdog, at least for the first couple of months, to check how much you're using. Also, use Wifi when possible, it's generally faster too. Most (all?) contracts I was offered included 1GB/month of BT Openzone wifi (although I don't actually know how to use it :) )
