Per BlackDroid on Facebook:

"The Ultimate Droid 3.0.0 release candidates will be released some time tonight. There have been many improvements since the first beta. New launcher, many memory and speed enhancements, new features, and all of the sensors on the Original Droid (including light and accelerometer) are working. This release also brings along with it the first of three tablets supported by UD: the Viewsonic G Tablet."

So make your backups, ladies and gentlemen and let's get ready to rock some Gingerbread goodness made just for us! :D

As much as I am loving VEGAn, i will probably have to try this one out as UD has long been my favorite Droid ROM. Heck, i'll probably end up switching over my phone as well if there is an update, LiquidGingerbread has been brutal on my battery.

Development has started to pick up. Awesome!

looks like we may have as many choices as the OG droid soon. I am already spoiled by the options over there and this is only gonna make my obsession even worse, lol. I have had an upgrade available through Verizon since november, but I just can't give up the freedom that these completly unlocked devices provide. Going from the droid and g-tab to anything else would just be disappointing.

Amen to that, Orange... no locked bootloaders for this old goat! My Droid & I can wait and wait and wait. Maybe until the Tegra3 quads come out or 3G support ends. :)

who said early adopters always get the shaft?? in the case of android, it seems like the first gen devices are actually the ones that have the best dev support for years to come. i wish all electronics manufacturers would just agree to leave their products unlocked and let consumers choose what they want to do with the devices they have spent hard their hard earned money on. if that choice voids my warranty, so be it, but it should still be MY choice. would anyone buy a car from a company that locks your hood shut to prevent you from adding modifications or changing parts? i know i wouldn't.
