ultra good news .. probably .. maybe ..hopefully

My goodness people wake up!

Who cares about the 2.1 update? Just root your phone. I was afraid to try but I did it last Friday using the SHolesUpdater and it's super easy. And FINALLY I have a browser without that crappy lag that they introduced when we all got updated to 2.0.1. That bug pissed me off, made web browsing on the phone a real crappy experience. ALso now I can overclock AND underclock. My battery lasts much longer.

I don't know why it takes them so long for these releases anyway, open source hackers can get a 2.1 ROM ready in a few weeks but yet we wait almost two months for one that's "official", and we still are waiting to get things fixed that were broken in the last upgrade (the web browser!) (so much for all the "testing" time they needed, and we still got broken stuff - so maybe just speed it up instead this time, m'k?)

Also, WHY do you people keep talking about Flash and being able to use HULU?

I HIGHLY DOUBT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO USE HULU!

If you own a PS3 you may have noticed Hulu blocked PS3's webbrowser from viewing! They did this because the "content providers" wanted people to only watch on PC's supposedly. So it is very likely that they will ALSO block mobile access too! I wouldn't get my hopes up!

Yeah I had skyfire on my imagio when I had it and it did flash as well and hulu blocks all devices so I hope no one is excited for that!

For what it's worth I just got back from Verizon with my third Droid. While the Manager was scratching his head about my phones problem I asked him about 2.1. He said nobody really knows when, its all rumor and hearsay at this point. I figure if anybody at a store would know it should be at the management level. As we talked he indicated that he really liked the iphone coming to Verizon as well. Again just a rumor as well but apparently his customers are more in the know than he is. Take it for what its worth cause with this info in hand you would still need a buck to get four quarters.

The announcement from Adobe corresponds with the earlier release schedule I heard on Engadget. Seems we will still be getting flash sometime around Q2, so lets hope it doesn't take 2.1 that long.
