Unable to access 3G- kerala (Idea)

Am using Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 phone.
My issue is unable to use 3G. when am choosing the WCDMA option phones goes to dead stage ie not able to make/receive calls and no data transfer (most of the time there won't be any n/w signal) Everything works good if am selecting the GSM only mode. After a long research i found that the option WCDMA 850 (FDD V) [] is unchecked but when i try to check this it gives an error.

Please help me on this
