A couple of months ago I removed the official Facebook app (or rather just the updates, as the basic version is part of the default software) because I felt the app was taking up too much space. I wanted to leave as much space on my phone as possible with a view to getting Gingerbread. However now that the Gingerbread update has come out, I have decided not to take the plunge after all. I was getting fed up with the idiosyncratic behaviour of Facebook's mobile version, and so I have reinstalled the updates for the app.
I am now trying to add Facebook to my sync accounts, but for some reason this is not allowed. Facebook is included on the list of possible accounts to add, but if I tap on it nothing happens. I do not have this problem if I try to add other accounts such as Facebook for HTC Sense (which I do not use), so there is clearly a problem with the pure Facebook option.
Does anybody know why this is happening and whether there is a solution?
