Unable to change input language/option by long pressing

Hello, back in Galaxy Note running GB, I was able to change the input language/method by long pressing the message input box. On the Galaxy Note 2 running JB, long pressing the message input box leads to two options: Paste and Clipboard. Could anybody please let me know what is happening and how to fix the issue? Thanks.

You can change it by selecting symbol in notification bar.

Thanks for the reply but I don't see the keyboard symbol on my device.

It does not show up even when I use the keyboard to type phone message. Could there be a switch to turn on this option?

Not that I know of maybe try a battery pull sometimes things go wonky and shutting the phone off and pulling the battery solves that.

I change my language input by long pressing on Space bar on keyboard. Have to set it up in options first.
