Unable to choose notification sounds

Not sure if this is a Note problem or more general Android but hoping for some help. I used to have my Note set up so that incoming Gmails would play a particular sound and texts on Go SMS would play a different sound. I don't know what I've done but now for both emails and texts I get the same notification which is an irritating whistle which I havent set myself at all and certainly wouldn't choose!

I have looked all over to find out how to reset this back to how it was but no joy. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Forgot to say that this irritating whistle notification sometimes (not sure if always) sounds even though I have the phone in silent mode using the toggle on the Notification bar.

1. Check Settings->Sound->Default Notification and set that. I use bubbles as it is inoffensive and quiet for system sounds.

2. Go into messaging then Settings->Select ringtone

3. In your Gmail go to Settings->[Your account]->Email Notifications and select.

Can the reminder notification for the calendar make a noise?

Yes. Why not go into it and have a look at the settings. It's not going to be much different from the others.

Admittedly it took me a while to find it since I forgot it is not under C for Calendar but S for S Planner.

Thank you for this post. I was going crazy trying to figure this out and it never occured to me to go into the settings of the app itself. Thanks for relieving my headache
