unable to create new directory on internal sd

pbrouty

Lurker
I have looked for answer to this but can't find anyone with the same problem.
I have a rooted ainol tablet. I started having problems with quickpic opening database file error. I believe the problem with that is associated with the broader problem that I am now unable to create a new folder/directory on the internal storage (mnt/sdcard).
I can change folder names and delete them.
I can save files to any folders and edit them and delete them.
Just can't make a new folder. I tried with ES File Explorer and the file manager that came with the tablet. And tried with PC connection. Still will not make a new folder.

Anybody have suggestions?

Welcome to the forums :) We're glad your here.

Something to try is to backup the current internal memory (Use this method here if unsure how) after the backup try to format the memory and then see if you can create a folder on it.

Thanks for your quick reply.
I copied over to my PC the folders I wanted to keep by usb tether.
Then I went to settings--->storage and clicked the button under internal storage to "erase this storage". It erased everything on the internal sd and then recreated a few folders used by android. After this I was able to create folders and copy back the folders I saved.
I would mention that my tablet has ICS.
Relief!!
