unable to download or update app using the market

Hi guys, I am on HTC desire Android 2.2.
Recently I am unable to update or download apps in the Android market.
I have recently cleared some of the folders in my SD card and this problem persist.
Do any of u guys have this problem? And do factory reset my phone helps?(it is troublesome to do so also)

Have you cleared data on market.apk ?

Nt sure. I just delete some of the unused folder. But how can I make it back if I have deleted it?

The market does this to me sometimes,normally starts working again a day or 2 after.

Also you need to have more than 15MB memory free on Internal to download.

Would have added this earlier, but avoided the thread because I had never heard of an application called "ustung"

Luckily I'm bored so I thought I'd find out what it was all about.

I have edited that. Sorry for the typo.
But it still does nt work. it is still unable to download or update apps.
It will display a word that say: unknown error-18
how to make it work??
