Help Unable to get GPS Lock

steslatt

Android Expert
I'm using MIUI V4 and can't get a GPS lock. I'm not sure that its a rom related issue though because Other MIUI users have reported GPS to be working fine.
Has Anyone ever had an issue where they can't get a GPS lock? Stock or custom? (While using navigation it says searching for GPS all the time and never gets a lock)
Did you manage to fix it? If so how?
I've tried doing a full wipe then re-flashing the rom, i've tried the faster fix app from the market. I've tried the AGPS patch on XDA. I'm out of ideas?

Not sure if MIUI uses gps.conf, but if it does, back up your current, and give this config a go:

Cheers, I'll give this a go when I go for my dinner. Mine was a little different so i'm hoping this will do the trick.

No joy unfortunately :(

EDIT - I went back to checkrom and got the GPS to get a lock, then wiped and went back on MIUI and bingo it works now. Although it does take a minute or 2 to get a lock even with fasterfix or the agps patch. At least its working now though.

My gps has stopped working, or at least it wont get a lock, at all. Its a GS2 on Tesco (02) mobile, running standard 2.3.4 firmware. Was working fine last week when i last used it on google maps. I've checked on kies for any updates but there isnt any. Can anyone shed any light on this for me? im not very technically minded tho :o but any help would be appreciated :)

Thanks

Ian
