Help Unable to Login to certain Web Sites, including this one, from my new Note...

I just purchased a Galaxy Note SGH i717 a couple of days ago after using an iPhone 3GS. I am having trouble logging in to some web sites including this forum from my Note. I'm new to Android and tried a search for help with this issue. It seems to be hit and miss as to which web sites I'm able to login to. Clearing cache & app data, using the default browser, Opera, or Dolphin doesn't work either. :confused:

No matter what I do, no success. I was on the phone with Samsung level 2 support earlier today and they were clueless. I'm positive I am using the correct characters for username and password. Never had a problem logging in anywhere with my old phone.

Any ideas?

Is your user agent set to Android or Desktop? If Android, try desktop, see if that makes a difference.

You might want to try Boat Browser too? I find that pretty good.

My passwords consist of a combination of numbers and letters.


I changed user agent in Dophin because that's the only browser where I can see the setting to change. I set the user agent to desktop but still cannot login here.

I installed Boat browser and can't login either. Four browsers installed on my Note now and still cannot login to several web sites on ANY of them.:confused:

I was in the AT&T store yesterday and tried logging into this forum from their Note display model but couldn't. Always the same "wrong username/password" message.

This is driving me crazy. :(
 
To be honest with you I have no idea what your problem could be since I have never had problems logging into sites from my Note (and my passwords have symbols in them). The only thing that I can suggest is to try a different keyboard. I use swiftkey x and find it much better than the stock keyboard.

I am having this very same issue with my new Note. Would love to hear any solutions. I did try writing my username in with the pen and typing my password in with the keyboard(using pen is too difficult in the password field) and it let me in the site even though I was typing the exact same thing in earlier and it wouldn't. Not sure what that means but thought it might help someone.

Well whaddya know.:)

I was still unable to solve this issue since starting this thread until now because I was doing the opposite. I was told it was better to use the Samsung keyboard instead and never considered using the Android keyboard. I switched to Android and I can now login here.

I had the same problem on my new note, all you have to do it turn XT9 off cause it tries to capitalize or something to ur password
