Help unable to make a call

Every night i put my phone into airplane mode and wake it up when i do ,halfway through the day yesterday i tried to make a call ,the display said i was making a call ,but there was no sound from the earpiece no matter what i did.i hung up and tried again a few times ,same thing.Display showed full reception.
I rebooted the phone and it worked as normal ,this has happened twice now,is it a hangover from airplane mode or something else ? ,anyone had the same thing happen ?.

I had it occaisionally when I was on my stock o2 rom. Since changing I dont get it so much. Usually a reboot was required. What rom are you on? is it branded?

Have you tried turning on, then off airplane mode when this happens??

It the shipped T-mob rom ,and no i have not tried turning airplane on and off again ,but i will ,thanks
