Help Unable to Open APP Folders

Newbie
For some reason last night after opening the Multimedia folder to add an app all the folders do not open. I have to force close each and everyone past attempting to open them. Anyone else have this issue? I have shut the tablet off and still have the issue had an update past this and still have the issue. Any suggestions? I know there are app folder organizers out there which one is the best. Thanks..

I'm not real clear on the problem could you elaborate a little more on the problem...

The folders titled Multimedia, social, etc. Where you click and it opens up with icons of your apps you placed in those folders to open. For some reason none of them open to show you the app you have placed in them.

I don't have that problem with my acer.I can open all the folders and see the apps I put in them. Try to copy a file like a song or something and paste it into the folder in question.then close the folder and open it to see if it is still there.
What file manager do you have?

I am using the folders that come with the acer tablet. The one titled games, media, social, e-Reader. May have to get a 3rd party app for folder organizer. Just fixed issue. Went in and deleted "Crackle" the last APP I added to my multimedia folder prior to this happening. Fixed isue. Must be a bug with that program being added to the app folder or something, Issue fixed.

Now when ever I add an app to one of the APP Folders that came with the tablet it force closes that folder and all the folders can not be opened. This is no matter what program I add to one of the APP folders. Very Odd..

Spatoid- he is talking about the custom folders that Acer has on the home screen. You will have blown them away with your custom ROMs.

Oz - I am not sure why you'd get a FC. Did you delete the app you added? I really think those folders are somehow linked together since you can slide between them, so I am not suprised that breaking one would break them all.

I didn't think you could add anything to the desktop folders. They are all active icons not folders.
Is there even a way to put a empty folder on the desktop? I never thought about that before.
I guess I'm confused as to what the problem really is.

Now when ever I add an app to the custom folders they force close and can no longer be opened until I delete the last app I tried to add. Very strange. Will just get a 3rd party app organizer to solve this issue. Any suggestions..

So if you remove the app the FC goes away? What happens if you add a different app? I would be interest to know if it app specific or if it is any app you add. Also, let us know whatapp is causing it and maybe some using it can try to recreate the problem.

I had this same problem yesterday on my stock A500.
I updated a number of apps and then found I couldn't access any of the app folders (multimedia, entertainment etc) anymore. Kept getting an error about Acer Content Folders (process app.folder or some such) requiring a force close.
Force close didn't help though and neither did several reboot.
Was about to uninstall all my apps but thought I take a look online first and found a post somewhere on xda which might help.
Try going into Settings > Applications >Manage Applications > All
Go to Acer Content Folders
Hit Force Stop
Hit Clear Data (didn't remove apps or anything, just the app icons from my folders as far as I can tell)
Hit Clear Cache if its highlighted
Exit

After all that, my content folders are back to normal and I haven't had any problems since, even without uninstalling any apps.

HTH

Nice Thanks
I have read that post at XDA also but didn't correlate it to this problem. Ill remember that one.

Everytime I add sometime to the factory folders I have the same issue, you can fix it by reseting the folder to it original content, but at soon as you download and add something...it fail again

Thks !...follow the recomendation and it work, but problem returns when I add new content to the factory folders...sometimes happens days after I added someting new...let say a new game.
