Help Unable to open email

I just got my phone yesterday. I setup my work account using exchange and every thing looked great. My inbox filled up with email but when I tried to open one I receive the error " the application mail has stopped unexpectedely." This happens every time I try to open an email. I can send and receive emails with no problem just can't open them. I work for state governement and we use Lotus Notes for our email. I switched form an Iphone and this worked perfectly. Iv'e doen alot of searching and this seems to be common but I haven't found any solutions that work for me.

Things I've tried:
1. uninstalling and reinstalling the account.
2. Hard reset to factory settings.

Have you tried the K-9 email app. It has been solid with everything I have thrown at it. Not sure if it would clear your problem, but it is just an idea.
