I am using Froyo 2.2 on my vibrant. I cant root my phone with the methods described in the forum. Whenever i click reinstall packages in the recovery mode, it says signature verification failed. Please someone help me out with this. I tried several times resetting the phone but didn't help.

You will need to reflash back to stock in ODIN using eugenes unofficial froyo (comes pre-rooted). That will get rid of the signature error you are seeing.
I got it except the fact of that eugene's froyo thing. Can you please elaborate a little more?
