Root Unable to save apps to internal memory/root a2sd/ext4

Hello,

I have a rooted HTC Desire "classic" and I have successfully rooted it and installed ICS. A2SD is also installed and works great. It all works fine but for one thing.

I have two SD cards - the first is the original 4 gig storage card formatted with an ext4 partition and one FAT32. No problem here.

The new card, an 8 gig storage card (Micro SDHC), is also formatted with ext4 and FAT32.

My issue is - I try to install apps like "Juice defender", "Facebook", etc, which are apps that wants to store themselves in the internal memory. This works with my old 4 gig card but with the new one I get a message that the internal memory is full (it is not).

Everyhing is the same, but two different memory cards meaning no need for updating HBOOT etc. What could be causing this?

Is the ext partition of the new card being used? Titanium Backup or Quick System Info can tell you.

How did you transfer between cards? Should take a nandroid on one, copy that to fat32 of other, swap cards and restore nandroid.

Otherwise can you give us as much info as you can about storage use, partition ordering? And have you tried initialising a2sd with the new card? If rom uses a DarkTremor-like script open a terminal and type

su
a2sd reinstall

and see if it works after that.

Thanks for your answers, I actually managed to resolve the problem by using another method of writing to SD provided by the installation program in ICS provided by sandvold.as.

The original problem is still there though, strangely enough, but is resolved using another script.
