Unable to send/recieve texts-HELP!

Lately my phone has been having this problem where I cannot receive texts/send texts to a certain contact of mine. It may also be happening with other people too, but I have only noticed it with this one person.
What happens is, we could be texting fine & then all of a sudden we won't hear from each other for hours & anything I send within that time the other person never receives & anything they send I never receive. Then randomly, we'll be able to talk again for a bit before it happens again.
I have not downloaded any apps or anything like that. I deleted all threads of texts I had thinking it was a storage problem, but nothing helps.
I've had this phone for less then a month & don't know what the problem could be.
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated!

The problem of delayed text messages sounds more like an issue with your provider / provisioning, than with your phone. I'd call and report it to your provider.

yeah that usually happens with me, the texts arrive like 20minutes late for no reason, but thats probably because of your provider (AT&T, Vodafone etc.) not your phone. If it was because of your phone then you wouldnt be able to text anyone.
