unable to stop email vibrate notifications

Hey guys if you're experiencing this problem like me you're probably frustrated too. Basically, no matter what settings you adjust on the native email app you cannot stop the phone from vibrating with every single email. I just did some research and found this bug report and if you follow the instructions from post 66 you can actually work around this horrible Android experience.

set ringer volume to 100%

set phone to vibrate and ringtone to silent
set ringtone for email to silent
set ringtone for gmail to silent
set ringtone for messaging to silent and vibrate to always

My N4 doesn't vibrate on email, but it does on Gmail... just how I've set it.

The problem is when you have email notifications on you can't stop them from vibrating without the workaround I posted.
