Root Unbrand and root

I have read around but am getting more confused lol

I have a desire unlocked but branded to O2.
HBoot is .93.0001
Radio 5.11.05.27
Froyo 2.2 (came on phone from new, 1 week old)
SLCD screen.
It also is pvt4 - 40,000

I want to unbrand and root. First I want to make sure I get the right images

I have a gold card and revoked. Could someone point me in the direction of the correct roms to unbrand and then root. (I am assuming that revoked is the right software to use) After reading I see the RA 2.00 img is the one to use on froyo with with pvt 4 issue?

Sorry so many questions....did my wife's ZTE blade in 20 minutes lol....this ones taking a little longer!

You can unbrand without root with an RUU (not unrevoked), or you can root and flash a custom rom. Are you sure you want to root?

Apologies for being such a scaredy cat lmao. Just used unrevoked with RA Desire 2000 and all is good. Checked and have super user installed and have done nand back up. Anyone suggest a good custom image to start with

Speed and simplicity. Not sure about sense. The phone is productive for me. I use it for Kindle (mature student) Sat Nav - (Copilot) Camcorder - better the resolution the better. (grand kids) Football updates lol...

I have put leedroids 2.3 latest on..its working well but not that much different from stock 2.2?
