why would you undervolt the battery
Not exactly sure you would undervolt the battery, but undervolting the CPU would save battery life.
Sounds like a good way to counter the cm7 battery leeching, I have looked around and there are plenty of kernels for other phones that support undervolting.
If I knew anything about android kernels I would be looking into it. Hopefully this peaks reppards interest...

three major factors in clockspeed and stability; Frontside bus, Mulitiplier, and voltage

just had a flashback of overclocking my AMD rigs. My last was an Athlon X2 64 @ 3 GHz. I built it to fold, and had it competing admirably against some Intels on the team.
I ended up having to scale it back to 2.99 GHz (*rolls eyes*) to prevent the northbridge from overheating on the 3rd day of full-throttle after a cold start.
That system's RAM (DDR2-800 overclocked of course) and the CPU were liquid-cooled. It had a variable air-flow 120x120 cm radiator on the back of the case, which fed out to a 120x240 cm radiator a few feet away. It kept the room a constant 80 degrees.
Good times.

Yes, absolutely. When you overclock and require drastic setups like that, do you really ever notice a worthwhile usable difference in speed of various tasks?
