Root Underworld w SBC versus Anthrax Kernel

I'm on Tommy Tomatoe's Classic v0. 9. Used Underworld v6 and got occassional random reboots I could not figure out. Switched to Anthrax. No more reboots and much better battery life.
(I know Tommy has updated to v1. 0 but I'm in SFO visiting my mom and no time to flash. I'm dying to try it.)

Did u check your "system/etc" folder for the "unit.post_boot.sh" file? If you are running the Underworld or LionFish kernel, this file will cause you to have random reboots. Either delete or move the file to the SD card and you shouldn't have random reboots caused by the kernel.

I've been running Underworld .6 sbc on the 4 Corners Rom.
For me I haven't had any random reboots and after reading the post on SBC doing harm I've been watching the batery temp while charging. It never gets over 87 degrees.
Plus if you use that Kernel, or the regular UW .6, you can download Incredicontrol from the market and it will let you adjust voltages. It works really well. neat stuff.
Actually using that instead of Setcpu.

I've always had better luck with Anthrax, the Test 009 build specifically. Underworld was kind of laggy for me historically but the last release or two has been a little bit better. Plus it's always nice to have SBC when you can get it.
I've used both Underworld SBC and Antrhax on Mikg 3.11 and I have to say that Anthrax wins.
Yes UW SBC charges the battery fully, but it is incredibly laggy on my phone, and I have used it with all governors combo possible, both with SetCPU and No Frills. While UW SBC charges the battery to its maximum full, in order for the phone not to lag terribly, I use more performance-driven governor, which drains the battery quicker, so in the end the battery lasts just as long if not longer on Anthrax, without the lag.
I love the SBC charging so much that I stayed with UW for weeks hoping that my phone would get used to it, but in the end I switched back to Anthrax.

I was reading over the thread and I saw this post. Does Anthrax not like the 4.67 ota or were u not suggesting it because of the front facing camera?
I also had laggy, even random reboots with underworld .6 However, like Natertots said, I use Incredicontrol from the market, and "upped" my voltages to stock and so far, so good>

/hopes he buys the LTEVO so we get some kernel dev going on

Hello, Im new to this forum and thought i was pretty good with roms, mods, etc...I recently rooted and rommed my evo 4g again, have mik 3.11 and love messng with kernels...I was going to use anthrax but as you stated above "As long as you aren't on a 4.67 Rom".....Well i am on 4.67 so whats the issue? I want a good kernel, looking at anthrax and underworld...this link for example lists 2way call record, beats, the list goes on... sorry for being the noob to put all this on your plate, your assistance is greatly appreciated. Soon I will post my specs when i have time. Thanks again!

If I were still running Mik, I'd be trying that new underworld v0.8 only because of the sbc factor.

But with kernels, your mileage may vary.
With v0.6, I had to manually "up" my voltages, as my phone no likey being undervolted by much.
Two other Evo's I rooted, I put on Anthrax because I ran it, and it has an awesome track record.

Yeah anthrax is great but if you're partitioned to ext4 then underworld is your only a2sd option.
Good point as I am ext4.
One of these days I will have to change my prl and will have to go to a sense rom to do so.

If you use Anthrax on a 4.67 Rom your front facing camera will be flipped.
If your on a previous build (Iforget the number 4.55?) it will work fine.
With a 4.67 Rom the Classic Kernel, and Underworld Kernel will work great with it. Also maybe the Agressive line. I'm not sure when Development is on those in relations to Rom build numbers though.
