Undo New Gingerbread

I have 2.3.3 ZVH but for two reasons, I’m considering going back to 2.2.2;

First, a couple apps that worked fine with Froyo don’t work at all with Gingerbread.

Second, I just might want to root after all this time. According to RazzMaTazz, I have to jump through some hoops to do that: How to make your phone a stock ZVD (Android v2.2 "Froyo") phone

Neither reason to revert is critical; just curious as what I’d be stepping in if I do this.

Well I believe there are ways to root ZVH without much effort, do that first and then get titanium backup to save all your stuff first. Also see how it runs with just being rooted on ZHV, you should notice a difference. After its rooted and backed up the rest is pretty easy as long as you follow the guides along.

I decided my reasons were too trivial and left things at ZVH, meaning I probably will never root this phone, with only eight month left.
