Help Uneditable / Can't change APN settings

Hi all and I know you must get this question a lot on here about APN's but I have search the forum but come up with nothing that suffices this question.

I have the Note 2 on O2-UK, and im unable to to change the APN settings for MMS. It's not a straight forward, settings, mobile network, APN etc as I already know how to get there and add new / change existing APN's. BUT, this seems to be abit different in concept.

I can't send or receive MMS, the actual data network APN is set correct (as for O2 they require two APN, one for internet and another for MMS).

1/. The O2 Web APN has a green selectable button to the right so you can select and chane to different APN's (if required, but I only have O2;s one active and it works fine).

2/. MMS APN, doesn't have the green selectable button as it's a different active setting and runs without needing to be selected.

Now for the problem; After calling O2 they have sent me in my email a complete indepth description on the exact settings for the APN's.
As I said the web selectable setting is spot-on. The MMS APN I have browsed down the list of settings and the proxy IP at the start of one line is reading 882.XXX.XXX.XXX and it should be 82 not 882 .
Trouble is, every setting in the MMS APN is greyed out and can't be changed, so I created a NEW APN with the exact same details from the email. BUT I cannot activate this APN as the first one is unable to be deleted, changed, edit or anything. In the list of APN's I have:

O2Web ( Internet APN that's selectablt)
O2 MMS ( MMS APN that can't edit, change etc)
O2 MMS2 ( My new settings with corrected proxy IP)

But even with many restarts of the phone and changes to the APN list, I can't for the life of me get the old settings to vanish so it will start reading the new ones.

Any ideas?

If everything is greyed out, that means the carrier locked out those settings. Unfortunately. I don't know how you would fix it. Does the carrier even know it's a locked setting that cannot be configured by the end user?
