Accessories Unimpressed with the steinheil crystal clear

Just got mine today, my zagg was such a bad quality and it was put on by best buy. They put it on perfect. No air bubbles and straight as can be but I can not get use to the rubbery and tacky feel even after using it about 30 days and that feeling did not go away and I'm a heavy user. Not to mention the orange peel look. It was very minimal but still visible on the screen.

With my replacement phone I added the steinheil which took me about 4 minutes to apply and it was very easy to apply. I didn't do no steam or in the bathroom application, I just put it on in the kitchen on the table. No bubbles and very clear. The feeling is smooth already and just put on. It doesn't need no "wear in" time. 5 stars in my opinion.

I have tried them all over the years and after reading several threads I finally gave Steinheil a shot. I bought the CC and it was very late in coming. I was just about to call when it arrived and I realized they sent me 2 packs of 2 instead of the one I ordered. I'm not sure if this was a mistake or a comp for it taking so long to process.

Install IS easy and foolproof if you read a few threads.

I had a few bubbles and dust particles. I just lifted from the corner using tape and used another piece of tape to remove the dust. Rather than use a card or squeegie, I relied on gravity to take over and just kinda rolled it on evenly and found the bubbles pushed to the edges. I then used my finger to work them out.

Not a single dust spec or bubble under mine and after a week it is holding up pretty good.

I will use their product again for sure. Haha I kind of have to since I have 3 screens left.

So, I have had my Zagg on since launch day and I still do not like the tacky sticky feel. Which of the product mentioned above are made of a material that feels more like an actual screen rather than the vinyl covering my grandparents couch?

PhantomSkinz is the best of both worlds. Not QUITE as crystal clear as the Steinheil, but the clearest/best of the wet application protectors. It also won't scratch up like a Steinheil.

haha this is become a sticky...

well i love my CC. far better than any other screen protector i ever used. still no problem with it.

I hate the graininess of the verizon protector. I will try the Steinheil Crystal. That pic looks like it was taken at "S" dock or so abouts. My boat is on "E" dock.

Shilshole?

If so i'm down on U dock :) if not which you in, as I see your in Seattle

Since I failed at installing my CC both times I decided to have BB install a Zagg and I must say it was/is the right chose for me. I work as a commercial flooring contractor and am always in big time dusty locations as well as other types of debris garbage glues patch and so forth.

when i get home everyday i put a tad of cleaner on the screen and wipe it down with a towel(buff it);). not a scratch on it. Id bet if id gotten the CC on it it would be a mess.

So, what did we decide here? Are the people complaining about Steinheil getting cheap knock offs on ebay? I, for one, took a leap of faith and ordered the CC two weeks ago and must say it has been great. Been in my pocket with coins and a few times with my keys (accidental) and it's still flawless. I'm not sure how people can scratch these with their finger nails. Maybe they really are installing the peel away backing instead of the protective film itself.

I got mine from SGP themselves through Amazon. It sucks. I've even contacted them and they have my order number so they're legit. The first one scratched terribly the first day (looked like those hard iPhone protectors). Haven't bothered with the second one. I've been doing what I did before, just minus the protector, for a month and my glass is still perfect. It's more durable than we give it credit.

Even with the protector, I have a felt pouch I keep the Inc in when in my pocket, so I'm just going to stick with that.
