i uninstalled many stock apps like myextras maps and such.Later i was browsing my system files and noticed all the .dex files were still there. i removed them and gained about 25megs of space. WOOOO!!!

Just make sure you know what you're deleting before you do it please. You dont want to come to this forum and have to look at "how to fix a bricked admire thread", trust me. Been there done that like 3 times and its not fun lol. But enjoy the extra space bro.

well it wouldnt be hard to fix a bricked admire that came from deleting a file. its just a matter of replacing the file with another file that is the exact same one. you can ADB push it. or you can use a nandorid backup to restore and thats fixes the boot loop, which really isnt a brick at all. a real brick comes from using the wrong options from rom manager turning the phone into a really cool and awesome paper weight ;)

Aye, that's very true. To me its a brick, but I consider them a soft brick because it's repairable/fixable. What I consider a hard brick, is buddy who installed ROM Manager lol... Well you guys can guess where the story goes from there. But some people can't even fix their phone even its just a soft brick, but whatever. Long story short. Just be cautious of the items you are deleting. Having to re-flash or restore a ROM isn't fun unless if you're doing it intentionally.

well i was a little nervous. but i had unistalled th apps a month prior..they were not involved with the operating system as far as i could tell. i went under the assumption the were no files that pointed to these abanded .dex . i am wondering if this happened to everybody that uninstall simular stock apps.are there other people that have megs of useless files cluttering thier os partition?

most peole have come to use the term soft and hard bricks lol i used them too. and i find it odd that some people who experience soft bricks arent able to get their phone back working. ive had a few bricks and ive always been able to get mine. soft bricks are considered repairable

ok guys you oldtimers made your point Now stop bunkin my high.To me this a a grand discovery as a noob to android. If this happened to me very well others may have same issue. I only wanted to share my newfound knowledge with other future brickmakers so we all have plenty of memory available on our our 100 dollar hockey pucks .And tonight when the grandkids go home and the ole lady is in the sewing room we can all go hide in the closet and check our /data/dalvik-cache! lol I am homeless with my 5 computers in a storage unit. i use my admire in extreme proportions. i dont have carrier serservice. basically its my labtop. and never shuts off. i have a small 12 colt battery i carry in a backpack. i think it may have been off 24 hours tops in tge last 12 months. I push it every and anyway possible. oh somewhere i read if you ate afraid to brick your phone you have no right ti be on this forum. haha I just hope someone else can gain from my system files daredeveling. but i do have 2 backups when this one catches on fire

another find . so you uninstalled loop my extras and what. then you went to dal and removed the .dex files the unistaller leaves behind. maybe 10-30 megs depending on which you uninstalled. ok now remember when you first got your phone tgere there a couple of the icons when you clicked on them offered to install the app. well even if you unistalled all that later. the originall apk files are in a folder called preinstall ocupyin several more megs of your systems alotted space.
