Uninstall or Freeze Bloatware

Found this on an Amazon review, i figured you all may want to know about this..

LG system lets you DISABLE OR UNINSTALL BLOATWARE! (use the app 'Application Manager' to UNINSTALL APPS it keeps the apk on its own but not running means no update messages, TO DISABLE go to normal settings and 'Apps' find app open settings of it like you would to uninstall and it will say'Disable')

so here's a step by step

To uninstall:

1. Application Manager
2. Uninstall Apps > uninstall the application there

To Freeze

1. Settings
2. Applications
3. find the app and tap it > Select Disable

this is not from my own experience, this is from someone else's....i Cannot verify that this works or even exists...so maybe this is a stupid post....but i figure some of you will try it and let others know that it works or not

It does work
did it on my wife's phone the day I got it for her
LG Motion let's you disable/uninstall bloatware BUT since I have yet to find a root
for it I can not say if other crap is running in the background
My Esteem is rooted with all boatware gone (and can tether too) but I have yet to find a way to turn on the 4G Mobile Hotspot that is in the Apps screen
It asks for a WPA password
Someone get's that and posts it (I would think it is the same or a way to get your individual one) and this phone is on the $55 unlimited would mean it could be a backup to your Craptastic cable if it goes down (like in a hurricance,etc..)

I agree I found out about this yesterday when playing with the phone. I kinda wonder if this was done to make rooting the phone less desirable. The major reason I rooted my Admire was to remove the bloat so it would run better. With the new LG I can just remove/Disable it with out a issue.

I can't disable any apps, I can delete bloat but when I follow the steps to freeze/disable them it only says force stop on the left, uninstall updates to the right.

Pressing uninstall updates didn't work. When I pressed force stop I get a prompt saying that may cause the app to "misbehave" so...idk what to do.

Once you uninstall updates it says disable. The button transforms after you uninstall the updates ;)

Is it better to use Boingo rather than Metro's wifi app? There was another I tried that seemed good, I think it was simply called Wi-finder, it had a logo of a tower with a green ball on it.

Mine default is my phone number, including area code.

Boingo makes you pay to use it, & it only finds open wifi for you. You can already do that through the phone's settings. Freeze or remove Boingo and Metro's Easy wifi. They are always running in the background, killing your battery.
