Uninstall pre-installed Applications

hi guys. I am a total newbie to Android, have had an iPhone ever since it came to Canada, I know....

Got my Galaxy Note 2 yesterday and it has a lot of application on there out of the box that I won't need and probably never will. There are also a few pre-installed apps from the carrier which I don't need/want on my phone.

I downloaded an easy uninstall application from the google play store but none of these apps show up. The only apps showing are the ones I actually downloaded such as Facebook, instagram etc...

I also tried and find the apps in the google store to uninstall them from there but no luck.

I tried and find this topic on here already but haven't been successful. Sorry if this is a duplicate

You will have to root uninstall any system apps

You cant uninstall preloaded apps unless u root of course. but U can disable them in the application manager under setting. Go to the all apps tab. If u updated the preloaded app, then u need to uninstall the update before u can disable it. U can also hide the app in the app launcher. Not if thats is possible in stock launcher but u can with go launcher.

Thanks! That helps! will do that then!

hmmm. I think I am to new to Android to root it. Will probably make a bigger mess haha
I felt the same way the first time I rooted a phone, if you go to YouTube they have great tutorials or you can go to XDA forums for guides on rooting

There shood be an "All Things Root" forum for your device on this site. Xda is an amazing site, a hotbed for genius and creativity, but this site is far more friendly if you run into trouble.
If you hit "report" on your post and ask to have this thread moved to the ATR forum for the N2 (and your carrier), a mod will happily do it.
Rooting isnt so scary tbh and i dont think its difficult on the N2. The "scary" thing is the power it gives you to damage the device so be very careful about what you uninstall if you do decide to root :)
