Help Unique Text Notification Sounds per Contacts?

Hello!

I just got my new G4 yesterday, upgrading from the Galaxy S4. On the Galaxy, I customized my contacts to have their own notification sound when I get a text (so for a certain number of contacts, I made their sound a morse-code kind of sound, while everyone else is the default sound). It may be obvious that I did this so I can tell who texted me without seeing my phone, etc.

This was done through the stock messaging app - so I kind of assumed perhaps this is a normal kind of thing that phones can do. However, after going through the settings in my G4's messaging app, I can't find any setting that does this same function. The only setting that is close is changing call ringtones - but that is not what I'm looking for (I'm looking for text messages).

Does anyone know how I can get my phone to do the same function? I'd definitely rather not have to convert to a different messaging app, as I like the stock one. Is there any sort of workaround that anyone knows of so I can avoid having to use a different messaging app?

TL;DR: I want unique notification sounds/ringtones for *text messages* (NOT calls) from different contacts - *without* having to use a different messaging app.

Thanks a ton in advance - I really hope I can get this same (and presumably basic) function onto my G4! Overall it's a great phone, but it would definitely be better if I can customize this little detail.

My LG G2 didn't have this capability. You might want to try Light Flow, as it will have the functionality to do it. This is what I use in order to accomplish that.
