Help Unknown App

Hi all

The following app appeared on my HTC Incredible S phone this past hour. I can't find any reference on the net about it and I can't delete it. It doesn't appear in the list that I've downloaded but does appear when I select the Downloads app from the All apps screen.

FastNFurious5_Sound.apk

It says it downloaded but I didn't hit install.

Can someone please advise me.

Have you visited the ringtone site zedge at all? The only reference to FastNFurious5_Sound I can find is on zedge.

How have you tried to delete? Via one of the 3rd Party File Managers like Astro or ES File Explorer?
 
Do you have the F&F game installed on your phone? Perhaps it's an add-on pack downloaded by the game itself. If you don't have the game and have no idea where the file came from, you should get rid of it.

Have you tried deleting it with a file management app, such as Astro File Manager? You could also try rebooting the phone first before trying to delete it.

The only search I came up with was on Zedge, but this was after it appeared on my phone.

I tried to find it in downloaded app, but its not there. I've run virus scans and it hasn't picked it up. I've also go into, settlings, applications, manage applications...but its not there either.

I don't have any file managers downloaded yet. Sorry am very new to Android phones so finding my way. But I know I didn't download this and no I don't have the game downloaded.

In any case it doesn't hurt to install a good file manager such as the Astro File Manager. You can use it to directly browse all the directories and manage your files on the SD card. This is practically impossible with the stock apps.

Okay, I think I need some help.

I've downloaded it and have performed a search for this unknown app and the search has come up with nothing.

Not sure where to start now.

I should have done more searching 'lol'

Okay I found two files....
/mnt/sdcard/download/FastNFurious5_Sound.apk
and
/sdcard/download/FastNFurious5_Sound.apk

Do I just delete both of these files?
 
I've tried to delete as per instructions on the Astro site.
(long click and delete)
But I don't get that option.
I get either:
open directory
open file

I hit open directory and thought perhaps I could delete it from there but no luck.
In the list of options, there is no delete.

Should I be trying to delete it another way?
