Unknown application help??

Ok, I'll be the first to admit that I don't know much about operating systems or smart phones, but hopefully I'm in the right place and someone can help me out here.

For the record I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S3 os4.1.2...

This morning I went into my task manager to close out all of the extra stuff I wasn't using. While I was doing that, I noticed an application under the "downloaded" tab and I don't understand what it does. It simply reads "Client", and when I go into the App info it says "Version Client v.1.4.3" and I can see that it's been granted permissions to pretty much every major part of the phone (camera control, reading & editing texts, read web history etc.).

Everything else under my "Downloaded" tab are applications that I physically chose to download, but I have no idea what this is. I've googled the heck out of it with no luck.

Can anyone explain to me what this is? Like I said, I'm not tech savvy at all, so for all I know it could be completely common and harmless, or it could be something fishy. Thanks in advance for the help!

if its something essential to the phone then it should not have a remove app option meaning its been place there by manufacture as the os needs it in order to work correctly if you can uninstall it then it may be a bogus app just uninstall it as if it was important to the os it would not let you uninstall it

I also have a s3 and I checked if I found something similar, but I didn't. So it is obviously nothing standard.

As others have said if your not rooted then it should be safe to remove as you would have no option to, if it was required by the operation system.
All I would add is that as listed as 'Client v xxxx' it may well be part of an app you do want and use , maybe one that requires a data access point. Delete it and if you find one of your apps no longer performs as it should delete the whole app via store reboot and then re download and install the app.

P.s, try n avoid that habit of closing apps, its probably doin more harm than good
I dont even have the home button long press for "recent apps" because it really isnt important to kill them or check my ram. I use the button to turn off the phone now
(And my phone FLIES with all those apps "open")

Beat me to it. Android does it's own tidying up of apps; stopping or suspending them as necessary; the worst thing you can do is try and manage the process manually or with a 3rd party 'Battery Saving' app!!
