Root unlimited 4g and 3g ?!

When I log on to the virgin mobile website and look at my internet details, it says "unlimited mb"
does anyone else's say that?

There was a thread i read a while back and everyone reported that's what theirs said also. Mine also went from 2.5gb on the optimus v to unlimited with the evo v 4g.

At least for the time being it does appear as if this phone is not being throttled in any way. Of course that can change tomorrow.

So... What you're saying is I can use unlimited amount of internet through the wifi tether without it slowing down even at 2.5 mb?

It is thought that because this phone relies a lot on Sprint's servers, that they are unable to properly track our data usage.

So yes, you are (truly) unlimited, wasting it will only make them hurry to fix it.

Just because its "unlimited" doesn't mean you can abuse the data to hell. Nor should you with WiMAX even though its not being monitored. That may change tomorrow ...

Mine shows....
"Data speeds may be reduced at 2560.0 MB"

My wife's EVO V 4G shows....
"Data Allotment: Unlimited MB"

Are either rom'd and if so, what rom?
Also, are they Virgin or Sprint phones and activation dates.

I forgot to mention, my phone is a Triumph with MTDEV CM7 ROM, and Wife's is EVO V 4G, with the 808 radio, everything else is stock.

Both are activated thru Virgin Mobile.
The EVO V is a "Sprint" labeled device, repackaged for Virgin Mobile.

I just figured that I am looking at a Web Page, not the actual Contract / TOS agreement, and errors happen.

Could it be that they are trying to attract more customers, or get existing customers to purchase newer phones?

I researched this but have lost the link. The 'unlimited' data on the $35 plan is 10 gb a month. Its 2.5 gb a month on the $25 plan.

Thanks.

Originally, after much back and forth on the Facebook page Virgin finally stated that the limits were going to be 2.5 GB on 3G and 10 GB on 4G before throttling began. The lack of communication between the various branches still leaves a definitive answer unknown. However I can definitely state that since owning this phone I have never received the throttle notification that was a monthly event on my Triumph.

Only the Evo V is showing unlimited, and again, it has to do with running at least partially on Sprint's system.

The Triumph runs exclusively on Virgin's servers.

The Evo V runs voicemail on Sprint's servers, possibly data through Sprint's servers and 4g through Clear's servers. This is why they are having issues tracking it. Sprint doesn't monitor data use like Virgin does, so their servers aren't setup for it, and even if it did, you would have to send that statistics to Virgin's servers and then to their website.
