If i use my upgrade to upgrade to a Droid X does my unlimited data go bye bye?

If you have purchased a phone when the unlimited data plan was active and u still have t5hat plan, you are locked in unless you switch to a different line or plan.

What in the world are you asking?
If you have unlimited data, you have unlimited data.
Granted, because wifi tether is a breach of contract, Verizon does have to write to force you into a tether contract. It's quite unlikely, but still possible.
