Unlimited Data?

This is more of a general Verizon question, but I didn't know where to put it, so I put it here.

Recently, there are rumors that VZW is getting rid of unlimited data on the 7th, 7 days before we customers can get the Droid 3.
My questions is, if I already have unlimited data as of right now, will I be grandfathers into my unlimited plan upon purchasing the Droid 3, or will I technically be starting a new plan, and be subject to the new data tiers?

If I don't get to keep my unlimited data, I'm going out tomorrow and getting an X2, to ensure that I have unlimited and a phone that doesn't suck as much as the LG Ally I have right now...

If you have it now, you are covered. If you ever change to another plan for data (why would anyone?), you would not be able to go back to it.

So as long as I don't switch from unlimited, I'm fine?

What about in the future. Right now, I'm on my parents contract (still 17), but when I start my own contract, would I be able to transfer my line over to a new contract? Or should I just do what I do now, and just pay my parents back forever? hahaha

According to this article, existing customers get to keep unlimited data even when renewing and/or upgrading:

Long time no see on this site! Where have you been Barb? Upgrading to anything anytime soon?

Actually I retired so I've been busy having fun! LOL! I currently still have my original Droid that I got on release day. I'm eligible for my upgrade tomorrow (July 6th) so....I'm waiting for the release of the Droid 3. I can't give up the keyboard. :)
