Unlimited now = always unlimited 3G/4G

Never mind.. It is at the bottom grayed out.. I should have read it more thoroughly. Unlimited 4G here I come!
 
Will this work for those of us still on Alltel Smartphone plans if upgrading to a 4G phone? I have a DX and my daughter has a Droid 1 and I do not want to lose my plan as it is significantly cheaper than even the previous Verizon unlimited data plans. I have unlimited data and unlimited text/pix/flix messages built into my plan.
 
I can confirm this because I just upgraded to a family plan and I still have unlimited data...but they have already started throttling me after 5gb...not that I use that often Im glad to have signed up when I did
 
I'm grandfathered with a Thunderbolt. What if I decide to go with a 4G tablet? Will I be able to transfer my unlimted data to that device?

No, phones and tablets are completely different data plans. Tablets have the same data plans as the MiFis.
 
Sorry if this has been answered but in a year and a half when my contract is up and I want a new phone, will I lose the unlimited data when signing a new contract or do you have to agree to that change?

I think the consensus is that if you had an unlimited data plan before on your phone before July 7th, you will retain that feature when you upgrade that phone (line).

As long as you have an unlimited data plan before July 7 then you will always have the option of unlimited data even if you change from 3g to 4g :) YAY!

"Always" as in until they decide otherwise, lol. They will eventually force you to change with upgrade. As a former VZ employee, I have seen this before with other types of plan changes. They'll do the grandfathered upgrades for a little while, then force you to change.
