unlimited/really large text plan

I know this is opposite of what everybody wants,
but has anybody seen a unlimited/really large text plan. Maybe pre paid.
No text or data needed.
I have seen two dollars a day. times 30 days equals $60 that's no good.

If you only want to text check out Ting, they have cheap rates. Ting divides up Texts, Minutes, and Data, and only charge you for what you use. So if you don't use Talk or Data you'll never pay for them - you can even disable Talk/Data for your phone on their website.

Prices for just texting:
1,000 texts - $11 a month.
2,000 texts - $14 a month.
4,000 texts - $17 a month.
6,000 texts - $20 a month.

If that looks good check out my signature.

I did the T-mobile prepay $30
1500 minutes talk | 30 MB of data

What can I do with 30 MB of data?
With prepay will data just end at 30 MB?
Or will I go over and have to pay more?

30MB isn't much. On T-Mobile's website you can find their data rate calculator. I'm assuming with 30MB, you can get a few web pages in or a couple songs of streaming.

With T-Mobile, I'm not 100% sure with their prepaid, they just reduce/throttle your data speed once you reach over the limit.

Republic Wireless is offering a new plan in November to go with their new phone.

Coverage: Sprint w/ free roaming on Verizon

Phone: Motorola Moto X - $299 - No contracts.

Plans (no contracts - you can change up to twice a month if you like):
$10/mo - Unlimited Talk, Unlimited Text, No Data (get data via WiFi only)
$25/mo - Unlimited Talk, Unlimited Text, 5GB Data @ 3G speed (100MB while roaming)
$40/mo - Unlimited Talk, Unlimited Text, 5GB Data @ 4G LTE speed (100MB roaming)
If you exceed your data, they just throttle you until next month.

I know, it sounds like an advertisement. Just passing on what I know. I am on Republic Wireless with their Defy XT phone @ $19/mo Unlimited/Unlimited/Unlimited @3G (plans are linked to phone model). While in larger cities, it works excellent. While in the country, it works excellent. While in smaller towns in fringe areas, it can't seem to make up its mind if it wants to be on Sprint or Verizon... guess where I live? I'm hoping the much more powerful Moto X fixes that issue.

That seems crazy.

Republic Wireless does that by defaulting to WiFi calls and texts when the phone picks up a WiFi signal, instead of using the cell network.

Correct. They figured out most people spend 90%+ of their time making calls/text/data use while at home (near their home WiFi), at work (near a work WiFi), or at a business with open WiFi (McDonald's, Starbucks, Home Depot, etc). So, where possible, it uses the WiFi to send/receive your calls, text, and data. Republic Wireless is owned by Bandwidth.com, so they have no problems dealing with all the resulting Internet based traffic from the phones (talk and texts).

The Defy XT is an okay phone. Good durability. But has a very tiny amount of internal storage. It is so little that when the usual Google apps get updated, it is full. Can't install anything else that requires internal memory. The other down side is that the Defy XT can't hand off a call that you started while on WiFi over to cellular. Your call gets dropped when you get out of WiFi range. However, it does call you and the other party back and reconnect you both on cellular.

The new Moto X solves both problems. Tons more internal memory and can hand off calls from WiFi to cellular seamlessly.

Right now the Defy XT is for sale @ $99 with the $19/mo unlimited/unlimited/unlimited @ 3G plan. When the new Moto-X is available in November, you can send the Defy XT in to Motorola w/ proof of Moto-X purchase under their Jelly Bean rebate program and get a $100 Visa pre-paid card back (so essentially get your phone money back). Not a bad deal!
