Help Unlock button too hard to hit?

Hi, guys. I got my Thunderbolt last friday night along with the extended battery because I heard everybody crying about battery life. This phone is huge and heavy with the extended slapped on the back. It does feel solidly made, though... so I can appreciate a little heft. My biggest complaint about the phone to date is that the unlock button seems a little too flush. Like, its hard to hit quickly and easily. I usually have to pay extra attention to make sure I'm hitting it right. I've never really had this issue with any other Android phone I've had (HTC Aria, Samsung Captivate, Moto Atrix). Is mine just smooshed in or something? Not sure if its a design flaw or if something is wrong with my TB.

I believe that u are talking about the button on top of the phone that is also the on/off button? if so i did notice when i first got the phone that the button is a little to flush with the phone. I just happened to buy a gel case from amazon that has built in taps where all the buttons are i.e. the power button, and the volume button. So all the buttons on the phone now have an extended tap that sticks out from the phone. So they are all easily hit.

@ the OP...
It's a well documented problem that has been talked about a lot. The power button is recessed and basically sinks into the phone with use. It was present on the EVO, is a problem on the Inspire, and is now here on the Thunderbolt. Nothing that can really be done about it...You would have thought HTC would have corrected it by now.

However, my second one is much better then my 1st one...we'll see how this one holds up over time.

Good to know. I got the phone 4 days ago, I wouldn't think I could have pushed it in by now. Maybe I'll go complain till they give me a new one and see what happens. :p

Edit: On a side note, while this extended battery is huge, I have had the phone unplugged for just about 20 hours of normal workday use for me and the battery is only lost 20%. I'm pretty sure I can make it to at least 2 and 1/2 days use with this thing if this keeps up like this. I'm going to keep it unplugged as long as I can and find out.
