Which F3 do you have? T-Mobile/MetroPCS (LGP659/LGMS659) or Virgin Mobile/Sprint/Boost Mobile( LGVM720/LGLS720/LG720)?

I have the f3 from metro and I understand that they run on different services, I didnt know if it was capable of running on other cellular services.

The MetroPCS version will not work on Virgin Mobile. The Metro version is GSM and virgin mobile is CDMA completely different radio frequencies.

I've gotten email from virgin saying something about in 2015 they're going to allow unlocking or something like that
Here's part of that email

Says I have to request access to view it. Please allow it to be publicly available.

why is the link cut off?

Also, only GSM/CDMA phones, (i.e: Samsung S4, S5, Note 3, etc.) are unlockable. Newer sprint phones are getting a GSM radio in their devices in addition to CDMA, but only devices with GSM radios can be unlocked. Also, they said they will start unlocking their devices. Meaning that does not mean Sprint/VM/Boost will start allowing people to bring their own device. Besides, the Metro F3 will not work on Sprint/VM/Boost.

Well this is what the email said

In accordance with the Unlocking Commitment, Sprint and its prepaid
affiliates (Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile, and Assurance Wireless) are
working to create new policies, and procedures in order to unlock
prepaid devices or to provide the information necessary to unlock the
devices, after certain eligibility requirements to be established are
met. Consistent with the Unlocking Commitment, Sprint and its prepaid
affiliates (Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile, and Assurance Wireless) will
implement these new policies and procedures no later than February 11,
2015.

It kinda confused me for a second until I read the whole thing again and again

I have the F3 from Virgin Mobile USA. I'm currently trying to unlock it so that I can use my German SIM card. I got an unlock code through unlockphone.me and they give the usual instructions to turn on phone with a not accepted SIM card and wait for it to ask for a password. That doesn't happen on my phone.
If I use their shortcode #0111*CODE#, nothing happens, same goes for the alternative that I've seen on the web #0111*CODE#, as well as the prompt 2945#*modelno.# to get to a menu that would let me enter the key.

Now, I have tried this with my phone in different states as well, at first with the Virgin Mobile ROM and the V6 firmware, then I flashed it with the Cyanogenmod flavored ROM that I found somewhere in this forum, and after accidentally bricking it, I unbricked the phone and have reset it to factory status, now on the V5, and it still doesn't work.

I am able to access the hidden menu with the shortcode 3845#*720#, but I can't find an option to enter a SIM unlock code. Can anybody help?

I'm trying to unlock my Assurance Wireless ZTE phone. If you get an answer to your question, let me know. Maybe it will help me as well!!!
