Hey everyone,
I'm new here and somewhat new to the world of rooting and custom ROMS.
My last phone was a breeze to do this with, The Galaxy Ace GT5830 - Rooted, custom Rom and networked unlocked it in a couple of hours
My T989d took a bit more work. I have it rooted, and it is working well with the TWRP recovery - no custom ROMS yet.
Is there a way to unlock this phone for free?
I've tried a bunch of Apps (including the somewhat dangerous Herolz Galaxy_s_unlock) and none of them have been able to unlock the phone.
My network is "Koodo" in Canada and they want a $50 unlocking fee. There are other sites out there that unlock based on the IMEI for a lesser fee, I was hoping I could do it on my own as I did with my Ace. Does anyone know of way to do this?
Where can I find the EFS folder (Herolz Galaxy_S_Unlock was unable to save the EFS so I never proceeded to step 2)
